San Ramon, California (EastBayDaily) — Open Visual Communications Consortium, the organization that enables service providers to deliver a consistent visual communications experience to enterprise customers across networks and devices, announced today Telefónica Global Solutions and Telekom Austria Group have joined the organization.
Telefónica and Telekom Austria bring two additional European service providers into the global ecosystem aimed at increasing the reach of visual and collaborative communication and growing members’ individual businesses and the overall collaboration market.
OVCC membership value and the organization’s collective market representation have made participation an important part of OVCC members’ visual communications strategies: “Telefónica is committed to delivering a seamless conferencing service and user experience from any kind of device, in any location. Ranging from immersive telepresence, through room-based videoconferencing, to video-enabled PCs and tablets, users have the ability to access the same services in an ergonomic and user-friendly way. Under that strategy, we have integrated managed telepresence with HD videoconferencing services. Our 360º Video Collaboration Vision is fully delivered with the integration of video-enabled PCs and tablets,” said Gaspar Valdivia, Product Marketing Director of Telefónica Global Solutions.
“As visual collaboration is expanding into Business to Business relationships, we are convinced that the Open Visual Communications Consortium (OVCC) will play a significant role in promoting the interoperability between conferencing solutions from different providers.”
“The Telekom Austria Group joined the independent industrial consortium OVCC in order to optimize its existing video services by leveraging the experiences from best practice examples,” said Reinhard Zuba, Group Chief Marketing Officer of Telekom Austria Group. “Our goal is to serve all medium-sized and large clients of Telekom Austria Group with an efficient B2B Video Service that is platform-neutral and thus enables companies to work even more efficiently.”
OVCC members collaborate to provide interoperability between different service providers’ networks, platforms and equipment, removing the biggest barrier to everyday videoconferencing use.
“Our two newest European service providers, Telefónica Global Solutions and Telekom Austria Group, expand OVCC market reach for the potential OVCC compliant service subscriber base,” said Andrew McFadzen, OVCC president. “More OVCC members and more OVCC market reach increase the service options and features available to its members' enterprise customers and brings us closer to delivering video as the new voice.”
More than 20 managed service providers and 14 network service providers join the world’s leading equipment providers to offer enterprise visual communications users a consistent experience with services easy enough to use everyday.
