Danville, California (EastBayDaily) — Every year Dr. Boghossian, specialist in laser eye surgery in Danville, CA, and his staff volunteer their time to organize a charity golf event to raise money for a local non-profit organization. Dr. Boghossian being a new father and an ophthalmologist realizes the importance of vision screening in children to identify conditions that if left untreated can lead to permanent vision loss in the future. This is why he has chosen to give all proceeds from the tournament to a bay area non-profit organization – Prevent Blindness Northern California.
Prevent Blindness Northern California (PBNC), a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, provides services to prevent vision impairment. Last year, PBNC provided over 25,000 vision screenings to young children and senior citizens throughout Northern California. PBNC is devoted to the preservation of sight for the people of Northern California through direct vision screening services, vision screening training programs, public education and advocacy.
In 2010, Boghossian Vision held their first charity golf tournament supporting PBNC with great success. Participants of last year’s game found the event fun and at the same time helped support a charity that is active locally in the Bay Area and Northern California.
This year the event will be held on Sunday, August 7th, 2011 at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, CA. The format will be scramble and is open to golfers of all skill level. For more information on this event go to http://www.bvlasik.com/golftournament.
