Emeryville, California (EastBayDaily) — The Bay Area ballroom dancing center Allegro Ballroom is offering 50 percent off on two new, American Style Ballroom Dance Series designed for beginners. The series will commence on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
The exciting new series will run for 12 weeks each. One is called “Bronze I Smooth,” in which the Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz will be taught. The other is “Bronze I Rhythm,” which will feature the Cha-Cha, Swing, Rumba, Samba and Bolero. Both series may be taken concurrently. For each dance, the ever-popular Michael Eric Koptke and Chelsea Farrah will teach students the elementary step patterns needed to form the foundation upon which tto build. In addition, students will enjoy the camaraderie that develops among classmates who share a common goal, and they will gain a sense of accomplishment as they complete each series.
“This program is designed to enable a student to master each level at his or her own pace before moving up to the challenge of the next, more difficult level,” said Naomi Ellis of Allegro Ballroom. “Bronze I is recommended for beginners as well as seasoned dancers who want to get back to basics and improve their skills.”
Allegro’s program is based on the DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association) Syllabus, recognized by the National Dance Council of America and experts in the ballroom industry. The program will soon include “Bronze II Smooth” and “Bronze II Rhythm” for those who complete the Bronze I Series. Successful completion of all Bronze level series will qualify a student for the more fluid and advanced “Silver” level classes. Through diligent study and practice at each level, a student can achieve the goal of becoming a capable, well-rounded dancer.
In addition to the DVIDA Ballroom Dance Series for beginners, Allegro Ballroom will also be launching a Zumba Fitness Program and 10/10 Fun Club that includes a weight-loss challenge with money-back incentives, as well as useful dietary and nutritional information.
