Atomic Labs Announces Pion Lite for Web Analytics

Mountain View, California (EastBayDaily) — Atomic Labs, Inc. today made tagless, passive data capture available for free to all web analytics users through the immediate availability of Pion™ Lite. Pion Lite is the free edition of Pion 3.0, a powerful data capture, processing and integration platform from Atomic Labs that is being launched today at both the SMX West Expo in Santa Clara and the Omniture Summit in Salt Lake City.

Better Web Analytics Data Than Page Tags with Less Overhead Pion Lite captures audience data for web analytics in a whole new way by passively “listening” to all of the network traffic between web servers and web visitors. This approach greatly reduces the overhead traditionally required to capture visitor data with page tags and also provides better, more complete data about site visitors including those using mobile devices and RSS readers. Pion Lite includes a new, easy setup wizard that provides instant integration with Google Analytics, Omniture Genesis, Unica OnDemand and Webtrends Analytics.

“Our passive data capture technology is used by some of the world’s largest websites,” said Michael Dickey, CEO of Atomic Labs. “And now we’re thrilled to offer parts of this same great technology for free to web marketers everywhere.”

Anonymous Analytics Helps Marketers Comply with Privacy Laws and Policies Another benefit of the new Pion Lite is the ability for marketers to anonymize sensitive pieces of visitor data to comply with the growing number of privacy laws and policies, especially within government agencies and educational institutions. Pion collects analytics information within a website’s data center and can be configured to remove all personally identifiable information (such as visitor cookies and IP addresses) before sending the data to third party web analytics vendors. This new, privacy-friendly approach to web analytics data capture gives marketers the information they need without the risk of privacy violations.

“Pion Lite’s ability to capture anonymized data for web analytics is a game-changer,” said Dr. Phil Mui, Senior Product Manager for Google Analytics. “This will be extremely valuable, especially to government agencies and educational institutions.”

Mr. Mui and Mr. Dickey will be giving back-to-back presentations at the SMX Expo starting at 1:20 pm on Wednesday, March 3rd. Audience members will have a unique opportunity to see Pion for Google Analytics in action and ask questions.

Upgrade Editions of Pion for Advanced Web Analytics Atomic Labs today also announced free 14-day trials for powerful new Pion upgrade editions. Pion Enterprise gives web analytics power users a centralized, drag-and-drop web interface to update data capture and processing rules in real time, and perform advanced cross-channel data integrations. Pion Replay lets marketers and customer services professionals see each visitor’s web site experience through their eyes, with visual walkthroughs of their sessions.
