Oakland, California (EastBayDaily) — Bambu Desserts & Drinks, the renowned San Francisco Bay Area Vietnamese coffee and dessert drinks chain announces the grand opening of its first of three shoppes opening in the East Bay in 2013. “We are completely thrilled that we now have a presence in the East Bay,” said Kelly Nguyen, co-founder of Bambu Desserts & Drinks, Inc. “This hip, modern new shoppe design has been a long awaited treat for Oakland. We continue to be amazed that our Vietnamese inspired chè is being enjoyed by so many people across the Bay.”

Since its doors have opened, the unique coffee and dessert shoppe has been busy non-stop serving the entire East Bay. “The turnout has been amazing and we’re extremely excited to bring this amazing chè to the Oakland,” said Thu Anh Nguyen, owner of Bambu-Oakland. “Bambu is special and something that our community really needed. Seeing customers standing and waiting in line to taste one of our 97 different items is really exciting.”

“We heard about Bambu through friends and we fell in love with their desserts the first time,” said Thu Minh, manager of Bambu Oakland. “Once my sister and I found out that we could actually open our own shoppe, we were among the first in line to jump on the opportunity.”
Bambu Desserts & Drinks was founded in 2008 by four sisters in San Jose, California. With twenty new shops opening in the past 18 months, Bambu has become nationally known for its fresh, healthy and colorful Vietnamese-inspired chè, fresh coconut drinks, Vietnamese espressos, blended coffees, and exotic smoothies. Their menu has nearly 100 desserts, coffees, teas and drinks to select from, but you can order any item “just the way you love it” including requesting extra jellies, pearls, or shots of espresso.
