Emeryville, California (EastBayDaily) — Head Over Heels Athletic Arts is thrilled to announce that its Emeryville facility reopened on July 23. The Bay Area competitive gymnastics center that also offers gymnastics classes completed a round of renovations throughout July.
"We have been working hard to reconfigure the gym to best suit the athletic education of our fabulous young athletes and can't wait for you to see the changes,” Diedra Bassel of Head Over Heels Athletic Arts said. “There will be new equipment for the recreational side of the gym, as well as a new foam pit and additional trampolines for our competitive team. These changes to our gym, our competitive team's success in the 2011-2012 competitive season, and the Bay Area voting Head Over Heals Athletic Arts the best gymnastics class in both Parents' Press and Bay Area Parents' Magazine have made this our best year ever."
With the reopening of the facility, Head Over Heals Athletic Arts is hosting the Competitive Team Camp, in addition to regular camp and classes from July 23 to July 27. Due to the packed schedule, the kids gymnastics facility is unable to host Open Gym time during that week. Open Gym is resuming on July 28.
Head Over Heels Athletic Arts is the only nationally competing sports team in Emeryville, and has two Level 9 gymnasts who will train at the Karoli Ranch in Texas with the national coaches due to their wins at Western Championships.
“Our competitive team is doing extremely well and, our head coach is the Nor Cal Coach of the Year,” Bassel said.
