Bay Area Sailing Club Tradewinds Sailing School and Club Celebrates 50 Years in 2012

Richmond, California (EastBayDaily) — Offering sailing lessons and charters for Bay Area residents, Tradewinds Sailing School and Club is proud to celebrate 50 years in business in 2012, making them the most experienced sailing school and club in the Bay Area. To commemorate the occasion, Tradewinds Sailing School and Club is putting together a 50-year anniversary yearbook.

"We are looking for members, students and instructors who have sailed with us over the years," Matt Kepner of Tradewinds Sailing School and Club said. "We would love to know what you have been up to, where you have been sailing, what boats you have owned, and we'd especially like you to share pictures and stories with us."

Tradewinds has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1962. For half a century, it has chartered boats for those who love sailing and the sea, as well as offered sailing lessons for more than 45 years. With its teaching experience, the Bay Area sailing club is able to offer programs that allow sailors in any skill level to gain a foundational knowledge of sailing.

"Our successful method is based on a thorough understanding of how people learn," Kepner said. "We also want to make learning to sail easy and enjoyable, but we don't take shortcuts. Our instructors are selected for their teaching skills and their ability to make learning to sail fun."

It is because of the sailing school’s commitment to sharing sailing knowledge to those willing to learn, its dedication to the sport, and its love of the seas that Tradewinds Sailing School and Club is now celebrating its golden anniversary.
