Livermore, California (EastBayDaily) — Crooked Vine Winery, the original Stony Ridge winery and wedding venue, is currently harvesting its fall grapes.
"Fall is here! The temperatures this weekend will be in the 70s, and we have been busy picking in the vineyard. The outlook for this year’s crop of grapes is superb. Gotta love October!" Courtney Garcia of Crooked Vine Winery said.
Crooked Vine Winery has deep roots in Livermore, but the story began 125 years ago in Pleasanton at the Ruby Hills site where the original Stony Ridge winery was founded in 1887. In 1975, the Stony Ridge operation moved to Livermore; then in 2000, the Vaughn family of Pleasanton purchased the winery and created a second label, Crooked Vine. Seven years later, the winery was sold to the Corbett family of Livermore, who continues both brands with an array of red, white, sparkling and dessert wines.
Crooked Vine Winery offers wine tastings of some of its special wines, such as the Crooked Vine 2009 Charv, which is a blend of chardonnay and viognier; the Crooked Vine 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon; and the Stony Ridge 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon.
