Orinda, California (EastBayDaily) — The Markle Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation recognized RememberItNow! as a top finalist in their Blue Button Challenge announced at this year’s San Francisco Health 2.0 Conference.
The Blue Button Challenge competition sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Markle foundation asked applicants to use sample health information from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare for the development of a new web-based tool to help individuals stay healthy and manage their own care. In addition to using sample data from VA and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, the requirements for the contest included: Consistency with the suggested practices of the Markle Common Framework for Networked Personal Health Information like authentication of consumers, immutable audit trails, portability of information, and more. Usefulness to individuals in order to help them take control of their health or manage their care. The potential to impact health and wellness by addressing high-priority health goals. Neutrality with any platform to allow consumers access to their web-based tool with any simple web browser. Usability and ease of use in order to increase accessibility among patients.
Adobe’s Blue Button Health Assistant received first place of the Blue Button Challenge and the other finalist included Microsoft, MedCommons, and RememberItNow! The panel of judges included Aneesh Chopra, U.S. Chief Technology Officer in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Todd Park, Chief Technology Officer at the Department of Health and Human Services; Peter Levin, Chief Technology Officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs; Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist.org; Steve Findlay, MPH, Senior Health Policy Analyst, Consumers Union; James Ralston, MD, MPH, Associate Investigator, Group Health Research Institute; and Steve Downs of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

It is easy, fun, and built with features that matter most to patients.
Platform Neutrality RememberItNow! can be accessed through a simple web browser from a desktop or smart mobile phone. This service improves medication compliance, overall health, and keeps everyone connected: patients, family, healthcare providers and more. mHealth is put into the hands of the patient.

RememberItNow! medication reminders are available through SMS, email, or Push notification. Reminders can be set for medications and/or events. They are easy to customize with special instructions and help patients take the right medication, at the right time, in the right dose. This improves patient health and reduces health care costs.
A Personal Health Record RememberItNow! simplifies health care by consolidating health information into a simple-to-use Personal Health Record (PHR). Users can track their biometrics, manage their contacts, maintain a health and wellness journal, track their medical history and upload important medical records.
Safety and Security In the unlikely event RememberItNow! discovers a security breach that allows an unauthorized user to acquire information in an individual’s RememberItNow! account, RememberItNow! will immediately notify the authorized individual by sending an email to the current email address on file for that account.
Account Sharing and Accessibility RememberItNow! users can also share their health information with people and services of their choice in order to reach their health-related goals.
