ConteXtream’s Co-founder Sharon Barkai to Speak at Carrier Network Virtualization

Mountain View, California (EastBayDaily) — ConteXtream, a leading provider of carrier-grade network virtualization solutions, today announced that Co-Founder Sharon Barkai will be speaking at the Carrier Network Virtualization conference, on Wednesday, December 10 in Palo Alto, Calif. Sharon will be participating in a panel discussion titled “Strategic Leadership Insight, Identifying the True Value of SDN and NFV for Carriers,” alongside other notable influencers in the telecom industry, including representatives from PCCW Global, Oracle and Cable Labs. The panel will be moderated by Stéphane Téral, principal analyst, Infonetics Research.

ConteXtream’s presence at the event will also include two demonstrations of their award-winning distributed software-defined-networking (SDN) Fabric solution, ContexNet, in SDN-enabled virtual Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and Gi-LAN use cases.

WHO: Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream. Barkai conceived of and began ConteXtream in 2006 after a career spent founding and managing highly successful technology companies. Before ConteXtream, he was founder & CEO of Xeround Systems, which developed an innovative map-reduce approach to performance and scalability. Prior to Xeround, Sharon was founder and CEO of Sheer Networks (acquired by Cisco) which developed a highly successful control & management plane for Consumer Broadband networks which was adopted by Tier 1 Operators worldwide. He received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Hebrew University, and an MSc from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science.
