Contra Costa Budokan Martial Arts Academy Celebrates Grand Opening by Hosting a Seminar with the Founder of Seibukan Jujutsu

Concord, California (EastBayDaily) — Jon Rodriguez Shihan Certified Chief Instructor of the Contra Costa Budokan Martial Arts Academy has announced plans for the Grand Opening celebration of a new martial arts academy in Concord, Ca on October 22, 2011. The new home of Contra Costa Budokan Martial Arts Academy is 1830 Salvio St. in Concord, Ca.

This will be the second home for the Academy. It has been at a location on Colfax in Concord since it was founded eighteen months ago. The Academy has outgrown that space. The move to the new dojo (school) is now complete. The new space is still in the Downtown Concord a few blocks away from the Colfax location.

The new bigger and better dojo on Salvio will help the Contra Costa Budokan Martial Arts Academy to deliver on the goal of the founder. That is to create and deliver tools that empower students to achieve your full potential by breaking through self-limiting beliefs. They help students see the invisible, feel the intangible, and create the impossible. Through the practice of bujutsu (self-defense) and budo (self-development) they have experiences that develop physical skills for effective self-defense and protection. You build a higher level of self-confidence, self-esteem and self-discipline. They focus on three main aspects in our lives, health, relationships and abundance.

The Grand opening celebration on October 22, 2011 will be a jam packed event. The first event will be a seminar held by the founder of Seibukan Jujutsu Julio Toribio Kancho from 2 till 4pm. Kancho is a dynamic, international instructor, speaker and educator of the martial arts. At the seminar, he will lead participates in aspects of taijutsu (unarmed body techniques) and weapons self-defense. The seminar is for anyone 14 or older. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet and train with the founder of Seibukan Jujutsu. The cost of the seminar is $50 ($45 on line up the day before the event).

The seminar will be followed by a free demonstration from 4:15pm to 5:15pm by Jon Rodriguez Shihan for the level of Rokudan (6th degree black belt). Jon Rodriguez Shihan is the Chief Instructor and founder of Contra Costa Budokan. He is a full time teacher and continuing student of the martial arts. He is a certified instructor with experience teaching adults, juniors and children around the world. He is a graduate of an intense martial art apprentice training program (uchideshi) with the founder of Seibukan Jujutsu. He was a main instructor at Honbu dojo Seibukan Jujutsu headquarters. Rodriguez Shihan holds ranks in several martial arts; Godan (5th Degree Black Belt) in Seibukan Jujutsu, Yondan (4th Degree Black Belt) in Enshin Itto-Ryu Battojutsu (Samurai Sword Art), Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt) in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu) and 1st Kyu in Aikikai Aikido. Rodriguez Shihan works to create balance through practical applications and philosophy of bujutsu and budo. His interest is to share his knowledge to guide and lead others down their path of unification of mind, body and spirit.

The gala event and the day will end with a celebration of free food, drinks, and lots of good spirit from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
