Walnut Creek, California (EastBayDaily) — CUE's Annual 2013 Conference "CUE to the Core" has two of the powerhouses of education technology and professional development, providing what promises to be an innovative and enriching experience.
Sir Ken Robinson will be the opening keynote speaker and will be presenting a unique talk created especially for CUE members.
Robinson's 2006 and 2010 TED talks have been seen by an estimated 200 million people in more than 150 countries. His books and published papers have had a profound influence on the policies and procedures of critical government areas in countries around the world.
Robinson is known the world over for his tremendous message regarding creativity and innovation and their rightful place within both the education and business realms. He has been honored by governments, Fortune 500 companies and cultural organizations for his work in this area. From Robinson's messages, people are realizing that without embracing creativity, without creating unique solutions, they will not see the success they crave.
The closing keynote speaker will be Kevin Honeycutt, known as the "Robin Williams of Educational Technology." Conference attendees will be educated, amazed, amused and energized by Kevin's presentation "Trends, Tools and Tactics for 21st Century Learning."
The closing keynote is a fun look at the exciting things that happen when educators step outside their boxes and try new tools. It reinforces the importance of relationships while encouraging teachers to become learners again through positive examples of student success.
Kevin spent 13 years teaching art K-12 in public school and for 17 years spent summers leading creative adventure camps for kids of all ages. For the past four years he has hosted a creative learning site called Art Snacks where he shares 150+ ten minute drawing videos that support standards curriculum.
This social learning network is his Petri-dish to mentor teachers and students in virtual environments. He was selected to be in the Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2011 and spends time helping schools that use Apple’s powerful tools get the most out of them for students and teachers.
