Berkeley, California (EastBayDaily) — This April, HDR Remodeling in the East Bay is sponsoring two events for the benefit of local community organizations: the 26th annual Five Star Night on April 26, and the 25th annual Heart of the Home Tour on April 27 and April 28.
It will be a memorable and spectacular evening at the Scottish Rite Center on April 26 as Alameda County Meals on Wheels hosts its 26th Annual Five Star Night. The fundraising event will be unforgettable not only for those who will be attending the evening's dinner and auctions, but also for those who will be benefiting from it–the homebound and frail seniors in Alameda County. HDR Remodeling, East Bay's award-winning home remodeling contractor, is happy to be a part of this very important community event.
"We are proudly sponsoring the 26th annual Five Star Night, a benefit for Alameda County Meals on Wheels," Philip Anderson, president and founder of HDR Remodeling, said.
Alameda County Meals on Wheels is dedicated to providing assistance to homebound seniors in Alameda. Through its fundraising efforts and the kind support of donors, the non-profit organization delivers more than 2,100 warm meals weekly, as well as provides companionship, support and wellness checks to the elder members of the community.
Guests at the Five Star Night will start off the evening at 6 p.m. with fine wine, appetizers and a silent auction. At 7 p.m. they will be treated to a sumptuous four-course meal prepared by some of top chefs from the finest restaurants, followed by a live auction and dancing. The event will also honor Bayer Healthcare.

The Children's Support League (CSL) of East Bay, a volunteer organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children in the East Bay area, is presenting its annual Heart of the Home Tour on April 27 and April 28. Now in its 25th year, the fundraiser offers guests and donors a rare chance to see homes in Piedmont and Oakland that have been recently remodeled, designed, and created by some of the finest and well-respected home remodeling companies in the Bay Area. The East Bay remodeling contractor is also sponsoring this important event.
"We are proud of our long-standing association with the Children's Support League, which provides important services to those in the community who need it," Philip Anderson, president and founder of HDR Remodeling, said. "We strongly urge our loyal clients and colleagues to participate in this special event by purchasing a ticket to the Heart of the Home Tour, or by volunteering a few hours and supporting the efforts of this worthy cause."
Other than minimal overhead and promotional costs, about 97 percent of funds raised at the event are awarded in grants to non-profit agencies. CSL's all-volunteer members and staff give their time and effort to help alleviate the lives of at-risk and disadvantaged children in the East Bay; and with the help of donors and participants, the group has so far awarded $2.9 million in grants to different non-profit agencies in Alameda and Contra Costa counties, including $205,000 that benefited 29 organizations in 2012.
