Financial Literacy Fair Unites The Society for Financial Awareness (SOFA) and members of the Berkeley Service Employees International Union

Berkeley, California (EastBayDaily) — This was the second event hosted by The Society for Financial Awareness (SOFA) and its East Bay Chapter President Yolanda Alexander Maker, CEO of Financial Freedom Security Services, Inc. This enlightening event was held this past Tuesday April 24, with the SEIU city of Berkeley Employees Union represented by Sandra Lewis – SEIU President which featured Yolanda Alexander-Maker representing SOFA who presented a brief version of "Fiscally Fit".

Yvonne Guyton Johnson a mortgage modification specialist also gave a short but informative presentation on "How to navigate a loan Modification request with perfect paperwork. The crowd spent their lunch hour enjoying pizza, water, and cookies provided by the union. Staunch supporter of SOFA and Financial Education the councilman Darryl Moore was in attendance and gave a stirring opening discourse supporting SOFA and the combined efforts of all to help end financial illiteracy one community at a time.

The SOFA is a 501c3 nonprofit public benefit corporation whose members comprise a national educational speaker’s bureau, providing speakers to all who seek to eliminate financial illiteracy. SOFA consists of professionals who operate their own practices, (like attorneys, financial planners, CPA’s, tax and mortgage professionals, realtors, wellness practitioners and estate planners) to provide financial education to the public at work and where they gather. SOFA introduces keys to a successful and a profitable future in the form of workshops and educational seminars.
