Livermore, California (EastBayDaily) — Hannah Nicole Vineyards and Winery, Brentwood’s first winery, was just awarded export certification in conjunction with a World Trade Week event this past Wednesday at the i-GATE National Energy Systems Technology (NEST) Incubator Facility.
The purpose of the event was to honor the export achievement of select East Bay businesses. After remarks from Livermore Mayor John Marchand, Congressman Jerry McNerney presented Hannah Nicole Vineyards and Winery with its export certificate, acknowledging the distribution of its wines to Asia and countries around the world. The program also included similar presentations by John Garamendi and Pete Stark for businesses in their districts.
In addition, the event featured several panel discussions, including one on US Government export promotion and finance programs and one on innovation, manufacturing and competitiveness in America and Reshoring jobs. Moderators and speakers included US Commercial Service representative, Rod Hirsch, Pete Perez, Deputy Assistant Security of Manufacturing, from the US Department of Commerce and Erik Stenehjem, director of Lawrence Livermore Labs Industrial Partnerships.
"To be competitive in today's global marketplace requires innovation and hard work," said Congressman Jerry McNerney. "With that said, I am pleased to have the honor of presenting Hannah Nicole Winery with its export achievement certificate, which demonstrates the winery's ability to innovate and adapt to the business world of today and the future."
“We’re honored and excited to achieve our export certification, which will open up our distribution network to a wider pool of fine restaurants and retail locations worldwide,” said Neil Cohn, CEO and co-founder of Hannah Nicole Vineyards and Winery. “We’ve seen increasing demand for our wines in other countries and this certificate will now enable us to meet that need.”
