IAC Adoption Agency Extends Love and Support Even Further for the Holidays by Participating in Two Charities

Pleasant Hill, California (EastBayDaily) — Since its founding in 1982, it has been the mission of Independent Adoption Center (IAC) to provide love and support for families in need. This holiday season, the domestic open adoption agency is involved with two very charitable programs that will help extend that love to many children and families across the Bay Area and beyond.

“Nothing is more important to us than touching the lives of families in the area and across the nation, especially during this time of the year when even the littlest gestures can make a huge difference,” said Ryan Schwab, marketing director of Independent Adoption Center, which facilitates adoptions in 49 states.

As many Americans know, one of the easiest ways to touch the lives of children on Christmas day is by giving them new toys. IAC is hoping to light up many little faces this season by participating in the US Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program. The open adoption agency has set up donation boxes in several of its offices, including the Concord office, so staff members and current and alumni clients can donate new toys to children in need.

“It’s always been our mission to make sure children grow up feeling loved,” said Schwab. “Just knowing that there are so many children out there who won’t feel the joy of opening presents on Christmas breaks our hearts, so we hope to change that for as many as possible this year.”

The adoption agency is also turning the tables this season and “adopting” a family of its own. With the help of the Alameda County Department of Children and Family Services, IAC will be donating gift certificates and new toys to a single mother and her three small children.

“We are fortunate enough to have connections with social workers in other areas, including Alameda County, who helped us have this opportunity to directly influence one family’s holiday season,” said Schwab.

And what an influence the Independent Adoption Center has been. As the trusted leader in domestic open adoption, IAC has touched the lives of thousands of families across the country by providing the love, support and other resources they need to grow stronger together.
