imbee Debuts Facebook Connect for Parents

Walnut Creek, California (EastBayDaily) — imbee, the kid’s social network, today debuted Facebook Connect, the easiest and fastest way for imbee parents to connect with each other and share information about the imbee community.

imbee is the social network for kids 8-14 that offers the best of the web in one safe place. Parents need to approve their kid’s participation in imbee and can track their usage, but the kids have free rein on the site as all of the content is age appropriate. To sign up for the site, kid’s must verify their parent’s consent with a credit card and imbee charges the card $1 to insure that the kid’s address matches that of the parent.

Facebook Connect on imbee offers parents the opportunity to register their kids for imbee by using their own Facebook accounts. It will enable them to see other imbee parents on Facebook, as well as enabling them to invite other friends to join imbee with their kids. imbee will also keep parents and kids up-to-date on imbee news with regular messages and updates about the imbee community.

“Let’s face it, kids want to be on Facebook since everyone else is (including their parents),” said Alan Anderson, imbee CEO. “Offering parents the ability to sign their kids up for their very own social network using an adult platform makes things easier for everyone and gives the kids their own safe place to have a Facebook-like experience.”

imbee is a one-of-a-kind social media experience that is a mash up of the best of the web: video and photo uploads, real-time chat, playlist sharing, original web series and clips, pop culture news and cool games (and now music!). All in a safe environment that is all about kids, all the time. Check imbee out.
