KGB Kiteboarding of San Francisco Announces Completion of First Season

Emeryville, California (EastBayDaily) — KGB Kiteboarding, a premier kite boarding center in the east San Francisco Bay Area, announces the completion of its first season as an International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) affiliated kiteboarding center. The season will end on October 23.

KGB Kiteboarding has decided to conclude the kiting season because the onshore thermal winds are starting to settle down and change direction and the winter storms have arrived early this year as well. They will reopen their water operations on April 1, 2012. In the meantime, they will be offering winter snow kiting services in the Lake Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain areas from November through March.

“We have really enjoyed working with the City of Emeryville, new students and our awesome marketing partners over the course of the last season. I am sorry to see it come to an end, but I am also excited that we are planning some great things for next season,” says the center owner Royce Vaughn.

KGB Kiteboarding has taught more than 600 new kiteboarding students this season. Many of the new students came to learn about the company from their marketing partners such as Groupon, Zozi, Facebook and Tippr.

“I’m up and riding both directions, stoked about kiting. I think that speaks volumes for the instruction and gear I got from KGB,” says Nick Vandehey, a satisfied KGB Customer.
