Fremont, California (EastBayDaily) — Maaco Fremont Racing is excited to announce that it once again signed Formula Car driver Lloyd Read to its 2012 lineup.
Lloyd Read is the reigning champion in Formula Car Challenge presented by Goodyear. He won the 2011 series while driving the number 16 Maaco Pro Formula Mazda. Read also competed in the 2011 SCCA Formula Enterprise Championship, where he finished second. Twenty-one-year-old Read hails from Cwmbran in Wales but now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
“The Formula Car Challenge is part of the ‘Road to Indy’ that trains drivers and showcases talent to F1 and Indy teams. Read is part of an elite group that includes NASCAR and Formula One star Scott Speed, Indy drivers Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal, and NASCAR/Champ Car/GTP driver Michael McDowell,” said Frank Barnard of Maaco Auto Body and Paint.
