Neil Jensen Presents New Historical 1800s Biography

Mountain View, California (EastBayDaily) — With the publication of his new book “Fred T. Perris in Deseret” (published by AuthorHouse), author and avid historian Neil Jensen presents the fruits of his research into Fred T. Perris, or as he had always known him, Uncle Fred.

“While visiting the historical museum in Perris, Calif., I discovered a gap in the historical record of the man for whom the town was named,” Jensen says. “That happened to be the mythical Uncle Fred my father always talked about, who had two towns in the country named after him.”

Having discovered the mystery, Jensen couldn’t let it go. What he discovered fills the pages of “Fred T. Perris in Deseret,” presenting a tale of railroad work and surveying, life in the Utah Territory among early Mormons who were morphing, he says, from a theocracy to a democracy.

Jensen knows there is much to interest readers in his book, including tales of historical figures. “Readers will be glad to learn of a true western hero,” he says, “small of stature but brave enough to take on the invincible Brigham Young.”
