Walnut Creek, California (EastBayDaily) — Children fascinated by farm animals now have a new resource to satiate their curiosity. Authors Milan E. Wight and Chris Bratton’s “Chickens Are Our Friends” (published by Trafford Publishing) gives readers an in-depth look into the life of a chicken.
Designed for children 2 and older, “Chickens Are Our Friends” is filled with colorful images and information about the behavior and nature of chickens. The authors state that many children might be unaware of where the eggs in their refrigerator come from, or perhaps have never been on a farm. Wight and Bratton hope that their book will bring a little piece of farm life to children living in more metropolitan areas. An option to color the chickens or play a chicken jigsaw puzzle is available on iPad or iPhone using an App from the Apple Appstore for $1.99
An excerpt from “Chickens Are Our Friends”:
“You will know when we want to get out by cracks in the egg shell. It’s beginning to get quite warm inside this egg shell. CRACK! We are beginning to see cracks above.”
