Union City, California (EastBayDaily) — mOasis (http://www.mOasisGel.com), announced that it is welcoming Nick Macris to its growing management team as Director of Sales and Marketing for U.S. markets.
Nick will be managing sales and marketing activities for the overall U.S. marketplace, and will initially be focusing on commercialization and sales of the company’s BountiGel® soil moisture management product to growers in California and Arizona.
Nick’s experience commercializing new technologies includes working with Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. in a global business development and manufacturing capacity in the area of biological pest control. During his tenure, he was involved in the launch and expansion of Marrone’s Regalia® Bio-Fungicide into Europe, Africa, Middle East, and South America. He also worked as an Industry Manager for FMC Corporation, and served as Business Development Manager for Rohm and Haas Corporation, where he was tasked with searching for biological pesticides to license or acquire. He has an M.E.Sc. degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration, both from Western University in Canada.
Commenting on his move to mOasis, Nick said, “I have always been attracted to companies that have innovative, game-changing technologies. While there is a perception that there have been products similar to mOasis’ BountiGel® in the past, it is vividly clear to me that its newer Aquamer® technology does a better job in increasing crop quality and yield, while at the same time minimizing water use. I am excited to join mOasis at this stage of the company’s growth.”
Steve Hartmeier, CEO of mOasis, stated, “We’re very happy to have Nick on board. His extensive industry experience is expected to have a positive impact on our efforts to introduce the benefits of BountiGel® to growers. And, he’s joining us at an important point in our timeline, especially given the ongoing water issues in key agricultural markets and the opportunities that this presents for continued expansion of BountiGel®.”
