Alameda, California (EastBayDaily) — TRIC Tools, Inc., a California based Pipe Bursting Manufacturer, guided Alameda's King Kong Plumbing in "taking it beneath the streets." King Kong, a local Vietnamese-American plumbing company, recently purchased TRIC's new X20 cable pulling system. The unit weighs in at a sprite 60 pounds. On Monday, April 29th Salvador Sainz, Jr., TRIC's Field Trainer, took King Kong step-by-step through the proper pipe bursting and safety procedures. Jay Battin, TRIC's Rental Coordinator, assisted and photographed Sainz on the project.
TRIC's Pipe Bursting equipment uses a wire rope inserted in the old pipe. With the X20's hydraulic pulling force, the wire rope statically bursts the old pipe with a steel splitting head. At the same time this head inserts a new polyethylene pipe in the old pipe's rubble. TRIC's equipment has a very small footprint and is the lightest equipment in the industry for permanently replacing underground pipes.
Alameda is one of the San Francisco Bay Area Cities that have adopted Mandatory Sewer Compliance.
