Pan Theater’s Awkward Face to Open the San Francisco Improv Festival

Oakland, California (EastBayDaily) — Pan Theater’s Awkward Face Troupe was selected as a feature performing troupe for the 2010 San Francisco Improv Festival. Pan returns to the San Francisco improv circuit. After having focused on building the Pan Theater improv community in Oakland this is Pan’s first major performance in San Francisco since its run at the Blue Bear Theater in Fort Mason ended in 2007.

Pan is scheduled to perform in mid-August. Pan’s Awkward Face was one of a handful of troupes to asked to participate in the San Francisco Improv Festival. This is Awkward Face’s (Pan’s premiere performing troupe’s) first non-Pan performance and coincides with the troupe’s expanded performance and touring schedule.

Pan will be a part of the new San Francisco Improv Festival. This is the first San Francisco Improv Festival since the festival has been transferred from the San Francisco Improv Alliance to local sketch troupe Crisis Hopkins.

Pan’s participation in the festival comes on the heels of Pan’s Upright Citizens Brigade summer shows at the Oakland Metro and Pan sponsored UCB comedy improv workshops.

Awkard Face performs weekly at Pan Theater in Oakland, one block from the 19th BART station. Pan Theater is located at 2135 Broadway in Oakland.
