Pleasanton, California (EastBayDaily) — Leisure Sports Inc, is pleased to announce that participation and involvement in breast cancer fund raisers held at their ClubSport and Renaissance ClubSport fitness clubs raised more than $37,000.00 in donations. Funds collected will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.
This year’s events took place throughout the month of October at ClubSport fitness resorts in California, Nevada and Oregon and Renaissance ClubSport Hotels and Fitness Resorts in Walnut Creek and Aliso Viejo, CA.
At R-Spa, the day spa at Renaissance ClubSport, estheticians donated their time to provide more than $4,500 in services free of charge to women with cancer and their caretakers, giving these women some much-needed restorative relaxation. “It has been such an amazing experience to be able to touch the lives of these women, they are so appreciative and we feel so honored to be able to help,” said Heather Dominguez, Spa Director.
“Thanks to everyone who participated in events, purchased t-shirts, and paid entry fees during the October drive,” said Ralph Rajs, Vice President Operations at Leisure Sports. “It’s important for us to get the word out since studies continue to show that exercising regularly can significantly reduce the risk of breast cancer.”
Of the 6 locations, the leading fundraiser was Renaissance ClubSport in Walnut Creek. The members, guests and associates donated their time and dug deep into their pockets to raise $13,300.00. The hotel and fitness resort held a variety of events including: Pilates for Pink Group Fitness Classes, and a Pink Pajama Party. ClubSport Green Valley held a Pink Zumba Dance Party along with other fitness events to raise $6,700.00.
