Hayward, California (EastBayDaily) — Identifying your golf ball or marking your golf ball to help sink putts, just got easier. PGA TOUR Partners magazine conducted a product test of the Sakura IDenti-pen covering eight performance criteria. Fifteen hundred PGA TOUR Partners Club members rated the IDenti-pen an overall average score of 8.6 out of 10 points prompting the award of its coveted PGA TOUR Partners Club Member Tested Seal of Approval.
Because of the PGA Tour Partner’s Club Seal of Approval, Sakura was pleased to fulfill a donation request from NBC. Sakura provided IDenti-pen to golfers participating in the United Cerebral Palsy fundraising tournament in Camarillo, California that was held on July 20, 2008. In addition, golfers will receive Identi-pen at the FABTECH International and AWS 2008 Golf Tournament scheduled for October 6-8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
About PGA TOUR Partners Survey PGA TOUR Partners club members marked their golf balls with the dual-tip IDenti-pen for identification and to help sink putts. Golfers tested the ink resilience in a variety of conditions ranging from early morning wet grass, sand and water. Members found that the mark didn’t fade, was waterproof, and the colorful ink remained vivid in most cases.
The IDenti-pen dual tip allowed for writing on the dimples or straight lines around the ball. Members also created creative personal logos on their http://www.sakuraofamerica.com/Marker-permanent golf] ball. Versatility was a key attribute as members wrote on golf clubs, gloves and at home on CDs, DVDs and personal property.
Members evaluated IDenti-pen following these test criteria resulting the scores stated in parenthesis: performance (8.7); pen design (8.5); permanence (8.5); feel & comfort (8.4); dual-tip function (8.9); ease of use (8.5); and in general (8.3). PGA TOUR Partners magazine will report the overall average rating of 8.6 in the September/October issue.
PGA TOUR Partners Club Members comments: “Loved this pen! Used it to mark all my golf balls! First time I used IDenti-pen, my friend tried to tell me that the ball that was hit the longest was his, but the ball had my marks on it. Thanks, IDenti-pen,” shares Josh MacLachlan.
“IDenti-pen is the best ball-marking pen I have used. I’ve scrubbed it in the ball washer, fished it out of a water hazard, beat it around for a couple of rounds, and the mark survives. Also, it doesn’t color the face of the club,” states Ken Busness.
“Great pen for many uses. I used IDenti-pen to mark my golf balls and to identify some of my equipment. Additionally, I used it for my child’s school items. The pen provided a clean, permanent and quick drying mark each and every time,” said James Hill.
“I found IDenti-pen to be a very practical item to test and keep in my bag. The two tip widths allow me to be creative with my personal logo. I have used it to mark my golf balls, and so far the color has remained vivid, which is no small feat here in the Northwest,” adds Al Smith.
IDenti-pen and Golf Tournaments A NBC representative contacted Sakura requesting pens for the 10th Annual Devon Stern and United Cerebral Palsy golf tournament. Sakura gladly contributed IDenti-pens for each golf tournament participant, and Sumo Grip® II gel ink pens with a lanyard to golf tournament volunteers.
“The United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles was delighted to receive IDenti-pens from Sakura of America. IDenti-pen was provided to golfers to use while participating in this successful fund raising golf tournament,” states Shannon Vukalcic, Director of Marketing and Development of United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties.
Sakura will exhibit, booth number 10233, at the FABTECH International and AWS Welding Show 2008 scheduled for October 6 – 8, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sakura will display its industrial line of products and supply golfers of the trade show’s golf tournament with IDenti-pen.
