“Save America Gathering” Touts the Nation’s Christian Faith Roots as America Celebrates Independence


Martinez, California (EastBayDaily) — In 1797, the Governors of Massachusetts and Connecticut issued proclamations declaring days of fasting, humiliation and prayer. In 1798, President John Adams proclaimed a national day of fasting and prayer. 15 Prayer Proclamations were issued by the Continental Congress. The Declaration of Independence ends with the words: "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor." Leaders of Save America Gathering send warm greetings to Americans, everywhere, who are celebrating America's freedom, today, Independence Day.

Says Robert Berry, "Most Americans are having a great time, today. I hope they stop and thank God for His faithfulness to this land, which has resulted in manifold blessings, in the world, and the freedom which many so readily celebrate, today."

So as the firework smoke clears and the dessert comes out, the planners of the "Save America Gathering" and "555 days of Prayer to Save America" ask Americans, everywhere, to consider where America's freedom really comes from. As 2nd Corinthians 3:17 [KJV] says: "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."

Rather than separation of Church and State, integration of the faith-based principles of America's forefathers is seen by many Christians as the path America should seek for restoration and revival.

"None are good. None are righteous, save Jesus the Christ, alone. people seek perfection they can never attain. But any one can attain obedience and faithfulness. And, American's can let the Word of God drive the answers they seek for the great and problematic issues facing the United States of America," said Robert Berry.

Today is day 121 of "555 Days of Prayer to Save America." and day 55 of the current 100-day-long segment of prayer, prayer for forgiveness and mercy, and that participants, themselves, be merciful and forgiving.
