Mountain View, California (EastBayDaily) — The Sequent Open Wallet Platform has been selected as an Innovation Award Finalist in this year’s Contactless & Mobile Awards for its groundbreaking ability to enable applications to become mobile-wallets.
An industry first, Sequent’s open-wallet platform provides an SDK and APIs that enable developers to enhance mobile apps to access secure credit, debit and prepaid accounts stored in secure elements. The resulting applications become mobile wallets that can perform secure transactions at physical merchants using NFC and other contactless technologies.
“We are delighted to be selected for this year’s Innovation Award and to see that industry leaders share our vision openness and inclusion,” said Robb Duffield, CEO of Sequent. “All stakeholders, from banks to mobile operators to merchants should be able to control their brands and enhance their customer relationships by leveraging their existing apps for transactions anywhere.”
Sequent’s Open Wallet Platform turns mobile apps into indispensible tools for consumers by adding transactional capability for real-world applications. It enables apps to access not only payment cards, but also transit, ticketing, vending and access-control credentials so that consumers can pay, board flights and open doors with their mobile phones. This year’s Contactless & Mobile Awards are to be presented at the Contactless Intelligence Spring Conference taking place in London on 29th April 2014.
