SolarNexus Appoints Solar Industry Pioneer, Jigar Shah, To Board of Directors; Adds Solar Industry Veterans to Advisory Board

Berkeley, California (EastBayDaily) — SolarNexus, an emerging provider of software solutions that accelerate the business of installing solar power systems, has named Jigar Shah to its board of directors, along with Tom McCalmont, Darlene McCalmont and David “Lad” Wallace as company advisors. The appointments come at a crucial time for the company, which is poised to launch a next-generation software platform aimed at addressing inherent inefficiencies in the solar energy value chain and the tactical deployment of solar energy projects.

“Jigar, Tom, Darlene, and Lad are all well respected as innovators in their respective sectors and roles. They bring extremely valuable domain experience to SolarNexus,” said Eric Alderman, SolarNexus CEO. “From broad policy and commercial financing experience, to leadership that grew a $15M installation business from scratch, to financial management of one of the few publicly held solar integrators, we have assembled a stellar group of advisors to guide our product development and company strategy. As we move from development to pilot testing and eventual full launch later this year, their experience and industry connections will enable us to cover more ground and develop a strong base of company advocates and early adopters.”

“SolarNexus is addressing the right issues at the right time,” said Jigar Shah, CEO of Carbon War Room. “The solar industry needs to adopt processes and systems that will lower costs and increase productivity, and this is SolarNexus’ mission. The company’s executive team has the right combination of solar industry and software backgrounds to build a platform that will drive the solar industry forward, accelerating overall project velocity as we’ll need to do if we’re going to meet the expected growing demand for solar energy.”

“Broad penetration of solar energy, particularly in the residential and light-commercial segments, requires solutions to simplify deployments, eliminate manual tasks and shorten project times so that existing integrators become more effective and new businesses and skilled workers can enter the industry faster,” said Tom McCalmont, CEO of McCalmont Engineering. “SolarNexus has the right vision and product strategy to accelerate and streamline the operations of solar businesses nationwide.”

“Today, installing a solar energy system is time-consuming and requires collaboration across numerous tasks—from design and engineering, to permitting and incentive management, financial analysis, not to mention procurement and construction,” said Darlene McCalmont, COO of McCalmont Engineering. “SolarNexus is on a path to address these challenges and reshape the way solar businesses operate.”
