Space-Time Insight Gears Up for SI World 2012

Fremont, California (EastBayDaily) — Space‐Time Insight, the leading provider of next‐generation situational intelligence solutions, today announced details on featured speakers and agenda topics for its SI World 2012 user conference, to be held November 5-7, 2012 at the Omni Hotel in San Diego, Calif. This event will bring together technologists, data scientists, industry analysts, and decision-makers from utilities and other businesses in the utility industry to network and discuss the role of situational intelligence and visual analytics in harnessing the power of big data.

In addition to a keynote presentation from Rob Schilling on “The Rise and Impact of Situational Intelligence,” speakers and topics featured at SI World 2012 will include:     Paul De Martini, Managing Director, Newport Consulting Group. A consultant to technology and energy ventures and visiting scholar at the Resnick Institute for Sustainability, Mr. De Martini will discuss the evolution of the modern smart grid, and how situational intelligence can benefit power operators transitioning to smart grid environments.

    Jeff Gooding, IT General Manager, Southern California Edison. Mr. Gooding will describe the role of situational intelligence in The Irvine Smart Grid Demonstration Project, an initiative designed to test and validate advanced smart grid technologies within a controlled environment.

    Susan King, AMI Program Manager, Florida Power and Light. Responsible for leading multiple smart grid initiatives, Ms. King will discuss the implementation of visual analytics in FPL’s smart metering initiatives.

    Mike Smith, Vice President, Utility Analytics Institute. A 22-year utility industry veteran, Mr. Smith will explore the analytic trends and strategies impacting the today’s power companies.

Space-Time Insight CTO and Founder, Krishna Kumar, Sr. Vice President of Marketing, Steve Ehrlich and other company experts will also participate in the conference program, which includes separate business and technical tracks, in-depth discussions on big data and analytics, as well as strategic and technical guidance on implementing situational intelligence applications.
