The Bay Area’s Head Over Heels Athletic Arts Congratulates Leonard-Baker on Winning National Title in Competitive Gymnastics

Emeryville, California (EastBayDaily) — Head Over Heels Athletic Arts—an organization in the Bay Area that provides training in recreational, special needs and competitive gymnastics—congratulates Cairo Leonard-Baker for winning the recently concluded 2012 Junior Olympic Western National Championship. Leonard-Baker received the all-around and floor exercise titles in the Junior A level, as well as the top three placements in uneven bars and balance beam competitions.

“We are so proud of Cairo’s achievement. She truly deserves the national title,” Katreece Roberts, executive director and head team coach of Head Over Heels Athletic Arts, said. “Even though she’s only 12, she’s already put years of hard work into what is becoming a very successful athletic career.”

For her achievements, she has earned a spot at the National Team Center in Texas’ Karolyi Ranch, an elite training camp where she will train with the Karolyi and national team coaches. She will join the camp in November.

Leonard-Baker spends 25 hours per week at Head Over Heels Athletic Arts for her training, where she is given the opportunity to explore what her body is capable of. Like Leonard-Baker, Head Over Heels Athletic Arts helps all students in its gymnastics classes improve their quality of life by helping them achieve their individual athletic goals while instilling a lifelong love of being physically active.
