Berkeley, California (EastBayDaily) — The show will feature prints from Ron Wigginton’s watercolor series “Daughtering” inspired by and created in collaboration with Wigginton’s daughter, Sophia.
“Without my daughter Sophia, this very different series of paintings would not have come into being,” says Wigginton. What came to be the “Daughtering” series materialized by seeing through his daughter’s young eyes and listening to her unfettered 5-year-old mind.
“For decades I have painted to explore and illuminate nature and culture,” Ron continues. “One day I simply relaxed into Sophia’s world and with no real intention began to paint with a large calligrapher’s brush. These images flow from another world. I was puzzled, but Sophia instantly pounced on the first painting with full recognition.”
