Veteran Green Building Professional Joins Scientific Certification Systems Marketing Team

Emeryville, California (EastBayDaily) — Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a third party verifier of environmental and sustainability claims and an Inc. Magazine “Fastest Growing Company”, is pleased to announce the expansion of its marketing team.

Shayna Prunier, LEED AP, is an interior design professional with extensive experience in sales, business development, marketing, and consulting within the building design and construction industry. Most recently, she was a partner with the environmental/LEED consulting firm EcoConsultingUS in Los Angeles, CA. Her past experience includes being part of the national marketing team for DuPont/INVISTA textiles, advertising sales and business development for a residential focused environmental resource company Low Impact Living, and interior designer for commercial and retail Architectural firms.

Growing up in the rolling hills of western Massachusetts, she became conscious and passionate about preserving the environment. “Our food came from the garden, we recycled, we composted, and the house was always monitored to conserve energy,” says Prunier. Shayna is a LEED Accredited Professional, Certified Green Building Professional, Green Point Rater, and a committee member of the US Green Building Council Los Angeles chapter. With an MS in Interior Design from the University of Massachusetts, a BA in Art History from Brandeis University, and an adjunct professorship at Woodbury University in the Interior Architecture program, she has had a successful career specializing in environmental design strategies and materials. She has also been a guest green designer on Planet Green’s “Living with Ed” show.

In her new role as Marketing & Communications Specialist, for the Environmental Certification Services division of SCS, Shayna will handle the company’s marketing needs related to the certification of environmental claims and life-cycle assessment studies conducted for product manufacturers and industry organizations, such as companies like Steelcase, Knoll, Mohawk Industries, Owens Corning, and US Gypsum.
