ZooLights at Oakland Zoo: ZooLights -- A Family TraditionOn December 3, 2010, the holiday light display, ZooLights, returns to the Oakland Zoo. It's a family friendly event filled with familiar festive music, a meadow light show, and an atmosphere that will put the holiday spirit into your step. During the evenings of December 3 -- January 2, the Oakland Zoo morphs into a magical wonderland filled with lights, sights, and sounds of the holiday season. Thousands of LED lights shine in the night sky in the form of animals, candy canes, lollipops, and good ole St. Nick.Get the family together, be sure to dress in warm clothes, and come on out to the Oakland Zoo for an evening filled with good cheer. Oakland, California (EastBayDaily) — On Friday, December 2, 2011, the Oakland Zoo morphs into a magical wonderland filled with lights, sights, and sounds of the holiday season. Hundreds of thousands of LED lights brighten Oakland’s night sky.

ZooLights2_webHighlights include a candy cane lane themed rides area, a night time adventure on the Outback Express train, rocking around the Christmas trees in the Children’s Zoo, and a light show that’s sure to blow out any bah hum bugs. When it’s cold outside, you can warm up while watching the creepy crawlies in the Bug House. And, do snakes like holly? The Zoo elves are decking the halls of the Reptile Room with mistletoe and all things jolly.
