Oakland, California (EastBayDaily) — Oakland Zoo’s 20th Annual Fundraiser, Walk in the Wild — June 23, 2012. Now in its twentieth year, Walk in the Wild – An Epicurean Escapade! is one of the Bay Area’s premier fundraising events. Nearly 100 restaurants, caterers, bakeries, wineries, and breweries will be onsite – showcasing some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s finest fare (see vendor and libations list below). With each reservation, guests will receive a commemorative wine glass and plate to enjoy fabulous drinks and superb culinary cuisine. Reservation prices start at $125 per person. This adult-only event supports the Oakland Zoo’s conservation, education, and animal enrichment programs. Evening Activities: 4:00pm – 6:00pm: Pre-party among Patrons and Sponsors. It's a themed party, Eye of the Tiger, in the Carousel Courtyard. Festivities will include special appearances from the Zoo's animal ambassadors, live music, specialty cocktails, Zoo update from the President and CEO, Dr. Joel Parrott, and the opportunity to get a head start on the Walk in the Wild festivities. 5:00pm – 8:00pm: Wine, Dine, & Stroll and experience a unique evening event mingling with friends throughout the Oakland Zoo. Move to the music of Bay Area artists, Steel Jam. Make sure to see Maggie the baby giraffe, three baby river otters in the Children’s Zoo, and four new tiger sisters, Molly, Milou, Ginger, and Grace. Watch the sunset while sampling some of the Bay Area's finest epicurean offerings. Experience the views from above by taking a relaxing ride on the Oakland Zoo’s Skyride. This is a night guests are sure to enjoy and remember.
8:00pm – 10:00pm: Dancing & Dessert under the Stars. Celebrate into the evening hours with live music, dancing, and decadent desserts. Masterpiece, a collective of Bay Area artists, will perform live with a mix of song favorites including Pop, Soul, Funk, R&B, and Jazz.
