Right of First Refusal for Timeshare Resale: Learn more about right of first refusal (ROFR) when transferring timeshare ownerships on the resale market. Understanding how ROFR works can mean the difference between successfully purchasing a timeshare resale or losing the deal, only to be refunded and have to start your search over again. — by Selling Timeshares, Inc. on June 19, 2014 to Travel & Events (129 seconds)

Alameda, California (EastBayDaily) — Selling Timeshares, Inc., a licensed Real Estate broker who specializes in timeshare resale, has posted their newest video production. The new video from the company's marketing team features a new narrator by the name of Patrick Fry, and speaks about right of first refusal on the timeshare resale market.

The video can be found here:

Right of first refusal describes the right of the timeshare developer to purchase the timeshare back, directly from the owner. Generally, the seller will be tasked with finding a buyer first, then submitting the contract for their developer's review. The developer can then decide to purchase the ownership for the terms in the contract, or let the buyer fulfill their contract and purchase the ownership.

Historically, right of first refusal has been linked with stability in resale prices. If an owner decides to sell for a purchase price below the reasonable value of their account, the developer will simply buy the ownership back, thus refusing the sale to the open public.

The company has stated that these aspects, as well as others, are covered in the educational video. David Van Norman, licensed Real Estate agent and head of marketing for Selling Timeshares stated, "With two minutes of your time, you can learn almost everything you need to know about right of first refusal."

The latest video is part of a series of videos the company has posted on their YouTube Channel, in the effort of helping to educate the timeshare community about some of the advanced concepts in timeshare ownership. Those who are interested in getting access to upcoming videos have been invited to subscribe, at no cost, to the company's channel on YouTube.
